Competency Based Education

Competency Based Education

UMass Global recognizes that adults come to college knowing different things that everyone learns at a different rate . Competency Based Education (CBE) value this reality by allowing students to apply what they already know and to focus on what they still need to learn.

Student Profile

While there is no single ideal student model, Competency Based Education is generally a good fit for people who have experience, who are independent learners, and who are highly motivated to complete their degree. If you think you fit this profile and want to learn more, let us introduce you to CIM (Competency Intro Module).

Competency Intro Module (CIM)

CIM (Competency Intro Module) is an admissions requirement designed for prospective students to complete prior to entering the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program.
You will also identify your learning styles and their relationships to your educational goals and explore strategies to succeed. You may complete the application for admission at any time during CIM 1 or when you complete this first part of the module.
CIM includes two parts. In CIM 1, you will explore details about UMass Global and the Competency Based Education program for the BBA.
Once you complete the application process, you will receive login credentials and enter CIM 2. In CIM 2, you will discover the many resources available to you in the program. You will further "test drive" this educational experencies and how it will work for you.
